Professional experience

SuccessFactors, an SAP CompanySuccessFactors, an SAP Company
South San Francisco, CA

Director, Web Development, April 2016 – present

I am the web team lead for successfactors.com and sapsuccessconnect.com, working in an Adobe AEM environment. I manage five people, who are responsible for web development, content development, responsive web design, video production, SEO, metadata management, and localization, and I manage several web development contractors. I work closely with product marketing, customer marketing, and demand-generation staff to collaborate on content strategies.

Senior Marketing Content Manager, November 2012 – April 2016

I was named web team lead for SuccessFactors.com in January 2015, overseeing a staff that had been reduced from as many 10 people to, at its smallest, three FTEs, while concurrently dealing with a 30 percent budget cut. Despite these challenges, we improved metrics performance, added three localized sites, and began building a new events website.

El Camino Hospital
Mountain View, CA

Web Content Manager, March 2009 – November 2012

I was responsible for directing strategy and acquiring and maintaining content for this Silicon Valley hospital's website and its social media properties--Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. I also created and managed content for the hospital's 30-panel digital signage system. I was often called on to develop alternatives to traditional communication mechanisms--for example, creating HTML newsletters to replace printed direct-mail flyers.

PC World
San Francisco, CA

Executive Editor, December 2006 – March 2009

In various roles with this title, I managed PC World's product reviews department (online and print), oversaw its print magazine, and/or managed its consumer electronics supplement. I supervised staffs of five to ten people, including extremely talented, driven editors; freelance writers; and bloggers.

Senior Writer, May 2005 – December 2006

In this role, I served as PC World's main in-house feature writer, tackling topics like ID theft, privacy, consumer advocacy issues, product reliability, and product innovation.

Senior Editor, May 1999 – May 2005

As co-manager of the product reviews department, I tracked and enforced deadlines, second-edited manuscripts; wrote many product reviews; collaborated with testing personnel; and prioritized department tasks.
